Awards

At Wanborough Primary we believe that children should be motivated, challenged and rewarded both for their behaviour and for their work and progress.

To recognise this we have devised a reward system that celebrates and encourages this.

Presentation

Staff work hard with pupils to consider how important presentation is and how much we value it within our school. Each week every class presents an award for presentation.

This may be because their work is presented at a very high standard, or because they have worked exceptionally hard and consciously tried to improve upon their presentation. Their work is then on display on the school hall for the entire week to highlight to the rest school great examples of presentation along with a photo of them to show the great roles models of presentation within school.

Behaviour

Each week teachers will write names in Mr Drury's Golden Book when they observe outstanding behaviour of any description.

These children will then receive a certificate which will be presented and celebrated in Friday Morning's Celebration Assembly.

Each class also has a class system to reward whole class and individual behaviour.

Achievement and Progress

Each week the children will be given a leaf representing their house if they have produced an outstanding piece of work from any aspect of the curriculum.

This leaf will be placed on the achievement tree in Celebration Assembly on Friday morning each week, where they also will receive a certificate.

This will also count as a 'House Point'.

The house with the most amount of 'Leaves of Achievement' at the end of term will then receive a reward for their efforts.

Spoken Language

This award is given to children who have demonstrated / improved in communicating to the teacher / class / larger audience about something they have achieved or as part of a task.
