On Wednesday 22nd February we had a special day of 'Music Through The Decades'.
Each class took a decade from the 1940s to the 2000s. They learned a song from the decade and carried out research into life during their chosen era.
In the assembly at the beginning we looked at how different kinds of music is very memorable and can create moods and feelings in the listeners; scary, relaxed, crazy or fun! We also noticed how some songs like YMCA are still party favourites 40 years or more later!
At the end of the day, each class presented their songs to the school, with some information about the decade. We were pleased that one of our governors, Mrs Evans, was able to join us to comment on the performances and to tell us some of her memories of each decade.
Well done to everyone for working hard on their songs!
