400m run, sprint, long jump and vortex throw.

Cricket - North Wilts Final

Y6 took part in the North Wilts cricket final.

We won 2 games and lost 2 games. However, all games were close and we put up a good fight.

There were some exceptional catches, great bowling and superb batting!

All the cricketers should feel proud of themselves for the effort they put in!

QuadKids

On Monday 20th June, 15 children from Y1 and Y2 went to Swindon athletics track to participate in QuadKids.

All the children put in fantastic effort and showed great resilience in the heat. We had some exceptional running and jumping from both the teams!

In their heats, Kupa, Barney and Lucas were able to all place in the top 3 for their running events!

Overall, Y1 came 15th as a team and Y2 placed 7th! Well done to all involved!

Cricket

Our Year 6 team were winners at the Swindon round of the Wiltshire Dynamos Cricket festival.

They now go forward to the county competition.

Netball

It was a snowy start to our match at Tadpole on Thursday 31st March.

Despite the conditions, the team worked hard on the court to put up a good fight for the ball. We had lots of great areas of play and managed to conceive a solid 5 goals. However, Tadpole did manage the victory having scored 8 goals.

They nominated Tom (Y6) our player of the match.

On Wednesday 30th March, the netball team had a physical match against Swindon Academy.

The team worked well across the court and made some cracking interceptions.

Unfortunately, we were unable to conceive a goal and we lost the game 5-0.

Netball

This excellent squad of 6 competed away at Ruskin Primary School on Tuesday 22nd March. They started their game superbly taking a 4-0 lead over the opposition.

With some great play and interceptions from both sides, the score soon became a more reflective 4-4. Unfortunately, Ruskin slipped away to take the lead heading into the final two quarters.

Despite the exceptional determination and come back from Wanborough, we just missed out on a draw losing 9-8.

All players worked well as a team and have made excellent progress since our first match. Well done!

Football

The Y5/6 football team travelled to St Francis on Friday 18th March where they participated in a physical game of football. Despite the 3-1 defeat, the boys played some excellent football and worked well as a team.

The boys were 3-0 down just before full time which didn't reflect their effort and determination.

However, just before the final whistle Dan (Y6) scored an exceptional goal. Well done to all the boys!

Netball

On Thursday 17th February 8 children from Year 6 represented Wanborough Primary School at a high-5 netball competition.

Despite a defeat in the first game, the group pulled it back to draw their second game and go on to win the final two.

There were some exceptional areas of play with all players getting involved, trying their hardest and demonstrating brilliant sportsmanship. A special mention firstly goes to Tom and Kamile for their phenomenal partnership in the D in the final match seeing them score 8 goals.

Player of the tournament for Miss Grierson goes to Brett for his fabulous interceptions and well thought out passes.

Well done all, you made me proud!

The Year 5 and 6 netball team went to Oakhurst on Thursday 27th January for their first high-5 match! All players adapted to the rotation of positions and shooting ends well and showed some excellent team work.

Despite the 9-1 defeat, the whole team put in maximum effort and there were some fantastic moments of play including an incredible goal from Alex (Y6), some beautiful defending and superb interceptions! Abbie (Y5) and Tom (Y6) deservingly received player of the match!

Our next game will be at home on Tuesday 1st February.

Cross Country

We competed in a cross country race on Monday 18th October.

The Year 3/4 girls and Y3/4 boys came 2nd overall in their events and the Y5/6 girls and Y5/6 boys came 5th overall in the event.

Beat The Street

We took part in this event promoted by Swindon Borough Council to encourage more walking, running and cycling in the borough.

This was the third event of its kind and we were very pleased to come top of Swindon Villages table, both for total points and average points per participant.

You can read more about this on our Beat The Street page.
