On the beautifully crisp and bright morning of Friday 14th January, Oak Class (Year 6) walked to Church Meadow to take part in a tree planting for the Queen's Green Canopy.
This event was organised by Wanborough Parish Council as part of the celebrations for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
The event was led by members of the Parish Council and Sarah Troughton (HM Lord-Lieutenant of Wiltshire).
The children planted about 30 trees (supplied by the Woodland Trust); Silver Birch, Cherry and Rowan. Also planted with the trees were wildflower 'seed bombs', which should start to emerge in the Spring.
