Thursday July 23rd was our Sports Day, back to the traditional format of Reception and Key Stage 1 in the morning and Key Stage 2 in the afternoon.
A few showers couldn't dampen the enthusiasm of the children or the parents and families who supported them and joined us for a picnic lunch.
Reception / Key Stage 1
In the morning, Reception and Key Stage 1 were competing for their houses, but their total scores weren't revealed, as they were carried over to be added to the KS2 points in the afternoon.
After the children had competed, there was time for some pre-school races and some keenly fought Mums' and Dads' Egg and Spoon Races.
Key Stage 2
In the afternoon it was KS2's turn to compete in their houses for the House Sports Award.
The points totals from the Reception / KS1 runs were added in at the end. The KS2 events saw a tie for 2nd between Earth and Water, but Fire were able to capitalise on their lead from the morning events to secure a resounding victory.
All houses competed enthusiastically and all houses had outstanding individual performances, so congratulations to everyone for competing in such a good spirit!
