Sponsored Walk

We held our own sponsored walk on October 11th, in support of Julia's House Childen's Hospice.

All the children took part, wearing clothes in any or all of the colours of the logo from Julia's House – blue, orange and/or pink.

Each class (Reception and Year 1 will be paired) will worked together to complete 20 miles on our running track, a cumulative total for the class including staff, not per child!

The children found many different ways to complete their circuits, not just running and walking, but moving like animals, turning cartwheels, 'swimming' and much more.

Everyone took part with real enthusiasm - congratulations!

Miss Watts was interviewed by BBC Radio Wiltshire about the walk - you can hear this below:

The background...

This summer more than 30 larger than life dog sculptures - the Swindogs - were set to be unleashed across Swindon.

There were also be more than 40 Swinpups joining the trail, just like the Swindogs but a bit smaller! At the start of this year schools, nurseries and youth groups were invited to get involved by adopting their own Swinpup sculptures.

These are our winning designs from KS1 & KS2:

The completed Sir Wagalot!

Sir Wagalot was displayed in the Swindon Central Library!
