Maple Class - Term 4

This week (commencing 24th March) we created our own healthy sandwiches in DT. Everyone tried something new or a new combination in their sandwich and loved the result!

This week (commencing 17th March) we measured the mass of different bags of flour for our Maths topic mass and capacity. We also investigated different properties of rocks in Science to see which would be impermeable and therefore used effectively for a house's roof and which were scratch proof for skate parks and kitchen worktops. Lastly, we had a brilliant time celebrating 40 decades since red nose day started, on Friday for comic relief. We loved listening to the different songs through the decades and couldn't resist a dance during the Macarena!

Maple's week Week 4 Term 5

This week (commencing 10th March) we explored different types of bread linking to our DT topic this term on sandwiches! We tried bagels, baguettes, naan bread, rye bread, granary bread and pitta breads. We discussed what we would rate them out of 10 thinking about their taste, texture and looks.

This week (commencing 3rd March) the class made a brilliant effort on their world book day costumes and all looked fantastic! We spent time in the afternoon drawing our favourite characters and some were the same as who they had come dressed as that day! We also had lots of fun practicing our throwing and catching skills using bean bags in the lovely sunshine for our PE lesson this week.

This week (commencing 24th February) we became archeologists in History and explored what the word 'Danegeld' meant. We had to dive into boxes filled with soil to dig around and try and find our evidence. We found coins, necklaces, religious pieces and jewellery. We had so much fun and discovered the meaning of Danegeld.
