Maple Class - Term 6
The children have continued learning about plants and water transportation. They were able to observe their plants in read food colouring water and discussed changes to the plant. In Maths, the children have been learning about 2D shapes, recognising their properties and finding ways to group them. On Friday last week, the children thoroughly enjoyed their Year 6 treat where Dyson provided a science themed sessions. The children were tasked with being creative when faced a range of problems.
This week, the children have been investigating how water is transported around a plant. The children dissected plant stems and then placed them in water with red colouring to observe the changes. In History, the children played a Viking trading game to understand why trade was important to Vikings and the type of resources they traded. At the end of last term, the children tested their homework Viking ships to see if they would float. They all performed brilliantly!
