Conker Class - Term 4
This week (WC 24.03), we have been exploring mass! The children used the balance scales to explore the concepts of 'heavier' and 'lighter' first, before moving onto measuring mass by placing an object in one side and counting the number of cubes required to balance the scale.
This week (WC 17.03) we had much excitement with not only Red Nose Day, but also our DT project making Fruit Rockets! We started with tasting fruit and stating preferences, practiced cutting fruit using the bridge method and planned our own fruit rockets. On Friday, we then made our fruit rockets and tasted them!
In ICT this term, the children have been learning about pictograms! This week (WC 10.03), we combined our ICT with DT and the children had to conduct research into the classes favourite fruit. They then worked in pairs to put that information into a pictogram - it was a lesson enjoyed by all!

This week (WC 03.03), we had a fantastic World Book Day! The children's costumes looked amazing and it was lovely to spend the day celebrating all things reading! We read our books, did some drama in the style of our characters and completed a 'Character I Spy' activity sheet. Finally, we finished the day watching 'Tabby McTat' which was the story that Miss Muskett and Mrs Bridge had dressed up as!
This term in English, we are looking at instructions. To start our unit off, we explored the features of instructions, highlighting them on our own copies. Then we followed a set of instructions to make a concertina animal which was lots of fun, they looked great!
