Elm Class - Term 2

Last week, Year 5 have been continuing to develop their fencing skills. They have been using games involving gloves to help practise lunging forwards. In DT, we have been looking at different textiles and how they are joined together. We have been practising our sewing skills, including tying knots and threading needles.

Year 5 have had a great start to the term. The Year 5 girls were treated to a football session aimed at promoting girls' football which they really enjoyed. In maths, the children have been learning to multiply and divide numbers by 10, 100 and 1000, and they were using maths manipulatives to help understand the process. A visitor from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service came and talked to the children about fire safety in and around the home.
