Oak Class - Term 5

Last week, Year 6 took their end of KS2 SATs exams.  They were tested in Reading, SPAG and Maths.  Every single one of them worked extremely hard and took it all in their stride.  We are incredibly proud of each and every one of them.  We celebrated on Thursday afternoon by watching a film and eating yummy treats which were given to the children by Mr Gardiner, Mrs McGuire and Mrs Taylor - thank you so much!

Year 6 - SATs

VE Day Celebrations:  On Thursday 8th May we remembered 80 years of Victory in Europe.  As part of our Britain at War topic in Term 1 and 2, we had learnt about VE day and the celebrations that took place.  We spent the afternoon recapping what we had learnt. before taking some time to play games that would have been played by children in the 1940s.  These included Battle Ships, Jacks, Pick up Sticks and Hopscotch.

Year 6 - week 5th May

In science this term, we have been learning about the human body and in particular the circulatory system.  In our lesson this week, we learnt about the role of blood in transporting nutrients around our body.  We then we had fun making fake blood in order to understand the different components it is made of!

Year 6 - week 28th April

During our PE sessions, we have been focusing on travelling, balancing and showing shapes on the apparatus.  We were asked to work in small groups and to create a gymnastic sequence which incorporated these elements.
