Willow Class - Term 6
In Class 4, the children have been learning about coordinates and translation. They translated an object around a grid and played a range of games to improve their translating skills. In Music, the children have been learning how to play different chords and a triad on instruments, including C and G major and A minor. In History, the children compared the lifestyle between Spartan and Athenian adults and children, with the majority of the class saying they would have preferred to live in Sparta.
In Class 4, the children have been looking at money and converting between pounds and pence, and solving money problems. In Science, the children were investigating the animal kingdom and began to classify a range of animals using branching databases from our computing lessons. In English, the children were creating setting description paragraphs and retelling them orally in a group.
In English, the children have been learning about Ancient Greek myths and legends, and have performed a playscript of the Trojan War. During their history lessons, the children were learning about Greek buildings and how they have influenced modern buildings. They identified why columns were widely used in their buildings, recognising their strength in numbers. To test out this understanding, the children stood on paper cups and whiteboards to emulate a Greek temple. In Maths, the children have been converting money and solving money problems.
