World Book Day 2026

School was buzzing with excitement as pupils and staff came together to celebrate World Book Day in style. The school was filled with incredible costumes, and we would like to say a huge well done to everyone who took part. From imaginative outfits to creative character choices, both students and staff truly made the day special.

The celebrations began with a whole-school assembly where children had the fun challenge of guessing which book characters the staff had dressed up as. There were some fantastic costumes, including characters from Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty, Peter Pan, The Three Musketeers, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Matilda, The Wizard of Oz, and Pocahontas. The guesses were enthusiastic and the assembly was filled with laughter and excitement.

After assembly, the whole school gathered together for a special World Book Day photo to capture the wonderful costumes and the spirit of the day. Pupils then returned to their classrooms for a range of book-themed activities. These included writing book reviews, designing brand new book covers, and taking trips to the library to explore even more stories.

Key Stage 2 pupils also enjoyed watching the CBBC Live World Book Day lesson, which brought reading to life with interactive activities and inspiration for young readers.

To finish the day, we crowned our Best Dressed winners. It was a very close competition with so many brilliant costumes on display, but a big congratulations to our winners!
